Promotion of Research and Facilities

Research activities at IBMR take place in the form of, guidance to doctoral research scholars by Ph. D guides, BCUD sponsored research projects, SIP and dissertations of students, state and national level conferences organized by IBMR and deputation to external seminars, workshops and conferences .From 2011 to 2017 IBMR conducted 11 workshops and seminars at state as well as national level. And Publication of Research Journal.

The institute has a research committee to monitor and address the issues of research.

IBMR publishes a peer reviewed journal – ‘I.B.M.R.-Wakad’s Journal of Management Research’ which is registered under ISSN bearing No.: 2349-8722. The advisory Board has experts (who are Ph. D guides in the domains of commerce and management). The institute has published four issues of this journal till date. The Institute encourages the faculty members and students to publish their work in the journal as well as encourage them to publish research papers in the Journals notified on UGC website.

The institute tries to inculcate research aptitude and research culture among the students in various ways, such as a full course on Business Research Methods in the MBA curriculum. Several other courses such as Enterprise Analysis Desk Research (EADR), Industry Analysis Desk Research (IADR), Contemporary Marketing Research, Summer Internship Project, dissertation, etc. also have elements of research aptitude and scientific temper.

Some components of Concurrent Internal Evaluation (CIE) and classroom discussions on cases stimulate critical thinking and act as a catalyst to develop scientific temper and research aptitude amongst students.

Projects for courses such as Enterprise Analysis Desk Research (EADR), Industry Analysis Desk Research (IADR), Business Research Methods (BRM), etc. develop research skills amongst the students.

 

Students are encouraged to participate and present the papers in Conferences, Seminars organized by the institute. A separate track is organized for the students’ presentations research competitions. Students present their work in project competitions like AVISHKAR (project competition held by Savitribai Phule Pune University to inculcate scientific temper among students) & other inter-collegiate competitions.

Institute encourages & sponsors students to participate in external competitions such as Case Study Competition, Research Paper Presentation, Summer Internship Project Competition, etc. Students have demonstrated their research aptitude and scientific temper, thorough such participations. Mr. Pritam Thorat, Miss. Ashwini Bodake, and Miss Neha of MBA-II year Participated in ‘Avishka and ‘ Orbit’ competitions and won prizes for their presentations. Miss. Ashwini Bodake won the first price in her SIP research work. (AY 2015-16).

 

IBMR invites experts from specific domain and experts in research methodology to interact with faculty members and for guidance on various aspects of research. They guide faculty members on research publications, and specific areas like literature review, statistical tools usage, etc. IBMR organized a two day workshop on Writing Good Research papers: Tools and Techniques on 13t and 14th February 2016.

The institute has invited well-known experts in research such as Dr. Vasant Bang,  Dr. Shailesh Kasande, Prof. Dr. Ashok Joshi, Prof. Dr. Roshan Kazi,  Dr. Sanjay Kaptan, Dr. Ashutosh Misal, Dr. Satish Pawar  during state and  national level seminars, workshops, and guest lectures from time to time.  Faculty members and students take opportunity to interact with all these eminent scholars to develop research attitude.

 

The institute has been providing the facility of text and reference books, Magazines, Print format journals and e-Journals of national and international level; Computer labs with internet connectivity for promoting research culture amongst students and teachers as well. Every faculty has been provided a dedicated computing facility. Students are provided on-demand access to internet.

To facilitate smooth progress and implementation of research project, institute provides adequate infrastructure and human resources, time-off, reduced teaching load, special leave etc. to teachers ,support in terms of technology and information needs ,financial assistance to participate in seminar workshop, conferences.

 

To promote research culture, institute awards certificate of excellence along with Rs.100000/-by cheque as a token of appreciation to the faculty who completed their Ph. D. during tenure of their service with the institution. Five faculty members have been awarded the certificate of excellence and amount of Rs. 1 lac each till date. Financial support is also provided to the faculty members to participate and / or present research papers in the National, International seminars as well as to participate in the faculty development programmes of other institutions.

The institutional strategies for planning, upgrading and creating infrastructural facilities are implemented through various measures such as:

  • Purchasing the anti-plagiarism software.
  • Purchasing Research software for analysis purpose like SPSS.
