PGDBM

Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) (Part Time)

The programme comprises of 4 Semester.

Credits:

The programme is a combination of:

  • Full credit courses (100 marks each): 3 credits each and 6 credits for project.
  • Half credit courses (50 marks each): 2 credits each (4credits for RM Mini project & Field work)

 

Eligibility:

A student seeking admission to this course must have the following qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree of any statutory University or any recognized Foreign University
  • Any diploma awarded by Board of Technical Education of any State Government or central Government (Post SSC Three years’ Diploma with 3 years’ post Diploma experience or post HSC two years’ Diploma with 2 years’ post diploma experience)

Examination

Pattern of Examination:

The evaluation scheme comprises of:

University Evaluation (50 marks)

Concurrent Evaluation (50 marks)

University Examination:

There shall be University evaluation for each full credit course as per the time table announced by the university. There shall be written examination (Subjective-concept plus case study/application oriented type) for 50 marks by the University for each full credit course. Some half credit courses also have university evaluation.

Concurrent Evaluation:

There shall be concurrent evaluation for 50 marks for each full credit course. And each half credit course by the Institute. As a part of concurrent evaluation the students shall be evaluated on a continuous basis by the Institute to ensure that student learning takes place in a graded manner.

  • Case Study / Caselet / Situation Analysis – (Group Activity or Individual Activity)
  • Class Test
  • Open Book Test
  • Field Visit / Study tour and report of the same
  • Small Group Project & Internal Viva-Voce
  • Learning Diary
  • Scrap Book
  • Group Discussion
  • Role Play / Story Telling
  • Individual Term Paper / Thematic Presentation
  • Written Home Assignment
  • Industry Analysis – (Group Activity or Individual Activity)
  • Literature Review / Book Review
  • Model Development / Simulation Exercises – (Group Activity or Individual Activity)
  • In-depth Viva
  • Quiz

Project:

During the fourth Semester each student shall undertake a Project. The project may or may not have a functional focus, i.e., the student may take up a Project in his /her intended area of specialization or in any other functional area of management. Ideally the project should exhibit a cross-functional orientation. The student shall submit a written structured report based on work done during this period.

Standard of Passing

Every candidate must secure at least Grade E in concurrent Evaluation as well as University examination as separate heads of passing for each course.

Conversion of Marks to Grade Points & Grades The marks shall be converted to grade points and grades using Table I below.
